Meet Dr. Kyle Hoeft
Brant Hulsebus: Hi there. Welcome to another one of our podcasts here in the ICA Sports and Fitness Science Council. I’m excited to introduce another one of our board members. Someone I’ve known for a long time, my good friend, Dr. Kyle Hoeft. Dr. Kyle, why don’t you say hello and tell us a little bit about where you practice?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: It’s good to talk to you again, Brant. I’m here in Indianapolis, actually north of Indianapolis in Fishers, Indiana. I’ve been in practice for about 24 years up here, and I’m excited to share a little bit of the information that I’ve gathered over those 24 years. I’m thrilled to share my experiences with chiropractors, both new and seasoned.
The Vision of the ICA Sports and Fitness Council
Brant Hulsebus: As we’re launching and getting ready to go public with our goals, a lot of us have different things we’re excited about. Could you share a bit about what excites you regarding this council and what contributions we can bring?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: Absolutely. I look forward to explaining and demonstrating how we can impact local athletes in our communities to improve their performance across various sports like basketball, track, football, and soccer. There’s so much potential that these kids may not even realize. As chiropractors, that’s the exciting thing—we can help these kids enhance their performance, and I witness this on a regular basis, which is very rewarding.
Focus on Local Community Athletes
Brant Hulsebus: So I hear you’re more focused on working with local kids rather than professional sports teams. Is that right?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: Absolutely. Many of us have families and prefer to stay engaged with local activities rather than professional sports teams, which can be time-consuming. Working with high-powered local athletes offers the best of both worlds. Some of these kids will eventually reach professional levels, and that’s something we see frequently in our community.
Building a Practice through Community Engagement
Brant Hulsebus: Do you think engaging with local athletes is a good way to grow your practice?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: It’s a fantastic way to grow your practice. Engaging with the community helps you establish yourself as a trusted advisor and valuable resource, especially for athletes. This approach is essential for any chiropractor looking to make a significant impact.
Involving the Entire Family
Brant Hulsebus: By treating young athletes, do you also get a chance to engage their parents in chiropractic care?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: Absolutely. When parents see the positive difference we make in their children’s lives, they’re eager to involve themselves in similar care. They might not be competing, but they participate in other sports, and it’s quite easy to recruit parents when they witness firsthand the benefits of chiropractic adjustments.
Strategies for Community Involvement
Brant Hulsebus: I remember when I started, I engaged with local kids at soccer fields to grow my practice. Could you share some strategies for plugging into the community?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: For sure. One of the best ways to engage with the community is through volunteering. I volunteered as a travel sports coordinator for the local feeder program, which feeds into high schools. This involvement immediately connects you with hundreds of kids, parents, and coaches—an effective way to get started.
The Future of the ICA Sports and Fitness Council
Brant Hulsebus: Hopefully, our council can assist others in following your path, right?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: Definitely. There’s so much diversity and experience among our council members, providing invaluable insights. Joining our council is a fantastic way to gain knowledge and connect with like-minded professionals.
Conclusion
Brant Hulsebus: As we wrap up, it’s clear that joining the ICA Sports and Fitness Council offers chiropractors an excellent opportunity to grow their practice, connect with local athletes, and contribute to their communities. Dr. Kyle, any final words?
Dr. Kyle Hoeft: Just that it’s incredibly fulfilling to work with athletes, manage their injuries, and improve their performance. The experience and expertise we provide can make an immediate impact, which is something truly amazing to be part of. Our council is here to assist in every way possible.
